I have been providing BSL / English Interpreting services since 1992 and have reached full professional status (MRSLI). I also interpret for people who have vision loss or are Deafblind by using various methods of manual communication. I am registered with NRCPD (reg. number 1002647) and a full member of VLP - the Professional Association of BSL Interpreters in the UK.
I am London based and work primarily in the South East, but will be happy to undertake interpreting assignments around the UK and internationally too.

Deafness & Vision Loss
Over the last 28 years I’ve become a skilled and experienced in interpreting with Deaf people who have a degree of visual impairment or are completely Deafblind.
Besides being a NRCPD Registered and Qualified interpreter for Deafblind people who use Manual and/or Block methods, I am easily able to modify an interpretation by using Visual Frame, Hands-On, Tactile and Social Haptic methods of communication.
I have worked extensively throughout Northern Europe in the Deafblind interpreting field and am a keen supporter of the charity Sense.
In the last 20+ years I have gained a wealth of experience of in-vision television interpreting work.
Regularly I have interpreted live news broadcasts and also pre-recorded programs on various terrestrial and satellite television channels.
Further media experience has been gained from the other side of the camera unto interpreting on the production side of TV program making.
I have regularly worked with SkyTV, BBC, Channel 4 Television, ITV, Maverick and Hat Trick TV.
Justice sector related assignments have long been my work domain.
I have substantial expertise working in police settings with suspects, victims and witnesses for which I have undertaken specialist A.B.E. and S.O.I.T. training.
I am a highly experienced court practitioner working across County, Magistrates, Family and Crown Courts, upon counsel instruction in chambers as well as post court services such as Prisons, Probation and YOT Services.
I have a full CRB (Enhanced Disclosure) with full counter terrorism security forces clearance to 2021 - NCIS / MPS.
During my career I have undertaken many types of community interpreting assignment and also acted as a service co-ordinator.
I have managed and given ongoing support to a communications teams and undertaken regular supervision as well as mentored undergraduates and trainee interpreters.
